Hi

Post by balding_rich »

Hello everyone. I've got a Kawasaki J300 which I bought to replace my old and tatty Aprilia Leonardo 250 as a commuter and runaround but it seems to have replaced my Suzuki SV650 for blatting around the countryside on sunny days too!

Welcome!

I loved my J300. Service intervals are a bit short and economy not quite as good as newer bikes, but easily the most fun to ride of anything I've owned. Enjoy!

the intervals are short at 3000 miles if you follow the Kawasaki schedule, but reasonable at 6000 miles if you follow the Kymco Schedule!

You should try owning a Honda C90......oil changes at 1,000 miles 😢😢😢
I'll be doing mine every 3,000....oil is cheaper than pistons
I've bought a vacuum oil remover so just put the pipe in the oil filler, few pumps and it sucks the oil out
Saves removing the drain bolt and possibly damaging the threads

You'll be used to frequent oil changes with Leonardo. I had a blue 2002 250.

Great little thing it was, apart from its penchant for shaking many bolts loose.
