Really? That must have been a long time ago, I only remember using it for a couple of reasons, one family related and the reason I had it installed and the other a friend who lives in New York.

As said in the WhatsApp group, still can't make it tomorrow. Got the plasterers in at 8 o'clock as the new ceiling in the kitchen went up today. But sounds like a bloody good run Chris. I haven't had a good outting for a few weeks because I've been so busy. The GTS is however raring to go! It'll just have to be another time!

There's a Sussex Muppets WhatsApp group, too.

100% attendance at every meet, too.

Yeah, admittedly it's just me, but ...

Serious questions now.

1. How many X9OC current members ride an X9? ( I suspect that Poldark still does but not many others.)

2. Are there associated files, archives, whatever, that keep the forum ticking over as a valuable resource?

3. (Finally getting to the point) Is it worth redirecting any day to day forum posting over here?

Viable, current forums are still a bit of an anachronism. But then they have been for a decade or more. Still some folk prefer this kind of social media, especially covering niche interests like maxi scooters.

Why continue with unnecessary dilution when X9OC members could get a better forum experience on here, now?

8-)

My take on that is sure why not.

But regarding Whatsapp groups IMHO I think it would be good to advertise all the groups on here so any member who wants to take part in a ride no matter where they are in the country can request to be a member if they are willing to go that far to attend, this would then enable them to take part in the discussions about meeting up. To help facilitate awareness a post could be created on here with the inital ride date, etc with a link to the Whatsapp group so a person interested can request to join if they aren't already part of the group. Then once everyone is in agreement the post can be edited with all the necessary information.

I do wonder though it the name Maxi-Muppets puts people off from joining.

1) Very few but there are sections for most makes of maxiscooters; the site has evolved over the years. Even Silverwing600 has diversified with the advent of the Forza 350.
2) Yes.
3) No reason why not, I guess.
I suspect that most active X9OC members are members heree, too, but that doesn't alter my view that Whatsapp Groups are exclusive whereas the on line forums are visible to all.
That people may get a better forum experience here only works if everyone receives notification of all activities to do with rideouts and meetings such as the Epping Breakfast.
