NE Ride to Alnmouth Tuesday, 26th July

Post by Waldorf »

As this is marked: 'Public · Anyone on or off Facebook', I've put it here.

'Event by Steve Harrison and Maxi Scooters UK
Seaton Burn services (A19/A1(M) )
Meet at the Esso Seaton Burn services to leave at 11.00. for run up to Alnmouth for lunch, then a bimble back via whatever roads take my fancy.'

It's a bit short notice but it was a bit last-minute anyway and the Ride was postponed because of the weather-forecast.
The prime reason for going is Lunch!

TOMORROW!

Excellent day with Steve and Chris!
We met at the services and spent nearly 30 minutes catching-up before heading off to the lunch stop in Alnmouth.
We used the A1 for a few miles before branching off towards the coast.
As people know who live up here there are some lovely roads passing through lovely towns and villages and passing castles and stately homes.
The weather was just right: not too hot and not too cold, bright and clear although a bit windy.
After and hour or so we arrived and parked opposite a jolly cafe where we were made very welcome.
Following lunch and a great deal more chat we saddled up, rode for another hour or so (I think - I wasn't watching the clock) and stopped for a cuppa in what is a favourite haunt for bikers.
On leaving, we said our farewells although we set off for home together.
Steve dived off in the middle of nowhere to cut off a corner or two, I think, while Chris and headed for the A1. I slipped on to the A19 to ride down to Seaham through the tunnel while Chris carried on.
I left home this morning at 10.00. and arrived back on the dot of 5.30., in time for another appointment this evening.
I travelled 126 miles on a variety of roads and, as I said, had an excellent day.
Thanks, Steve, for good company, organising and leading and Chris for being good company.
Here's to the next one. :)
