Hi everyone. I'm Pete , I'm 70 years of age and retired. Looking to buy a cheap but good scooter for little touring. In the past I've been a bike rider but love the weather protection, economy and cheap running costs of a scoot.

Hello, Pete, and welcome!
I'm sure you will receive loads of advice regarding good, cheap scooters.
I'm a Honda fan but most makes seem to cut the mustard.

Hi Pete.
Welcome to Maxi Muppets.
There certainly are good, cheap-to-run scooters out there.
There are so not-so-good, not-so-cheap-to-run scooters too
Thankfully there's a wealth of knowledge and experience on here to help guide you.

Hi Pete, and Welcome I’ve just past 85 but I still love my Honda 250cc Helix, good weather protection, not too difficult for home maintenance, bought my first one new, kept it for 28 yrs then sold (and regretted) it, bought another which is a Keeper,
It doesn’t have all the problems that others seem to have….
