Hello all,
Had my 2017 SH300 stolen this week and although it’s been found, I’ve been told “it’s not in a good state”.
Assuming it's written off, I’ll be looking at getting an older Forza 300, pre 2017.
Anything known issues I should be looking out for?
I’m happy to do brakes, belt/rollers, filters, spark plug etc myself but valve adjustments or annthing complicated are not in my skill set.
On a separate note will my insurance go up a lot? Was paying about £120 full comp before the claim.
Also brand new helmet was in my top box….damm.
Many thanks.

I'd be surprised if there was anything to be worried about - it's a Honda. I've never seen anything.

No idea about Honda Forza specifically, but when buying an older scoot, the old cliche is to buy the buyer as much as the scoot! Obviously how well its been cared for and serviced is as important as anything else.

The rear brake caliper has a tendency to drag on the 300 Forzas. No biggie, but expect to go through pads more quickly.

Yeah, it just depends how well the brakes have been cleaned & serviced. There is a tendency for some owners or even techs to ignore rear caliper cleaning on scoots due to the amount of work often required to remove the caliper. Then when they do, they use the wrong grease or too much grease to lubricate the pad pins which causes the pads to stick a bit. Often you don't need any lube.
Probably not ugly enough for the 'Ugly Bunch'!

Re: Old Forza 300 - buying advice
Thank you all for the advice,
In the end I bought a NT700 Deauville. I had one before, years ago, so know what they’re like and I saw a mint 2009 (ULEZ compliant) for a really good price.
Also as much as I love scooters I feel geared bikes are less attractive to the local wrong-uns.
Anyway, appreciate the advice, cheers all.
