Hello, I'm an old chap of mature years who after many years of riding bikes changed to maxi scooters. I live in Great Dunmow in Essex and ride a Honda Forza. 300.

Hello Bellman - I think I have just made a very similar "journey" and landed here too. As a member for just a few minutes I welcome you and imagine that a few of the established members will also do so very soon.

Hello REW, welcome to you too. I made my “journey” to from motorcycles to maxi scooters many years ago, so I've owned a few. I'm considering a 3 wheel maxi next.

Hi and welcome from another one of those who've made the swap to a maxi.

Welcome,
I still can't mike my mind up on one bike that does it all, but warming to getting a Forza or a Burgman. How do you get on with keyless ignition, I think it could course problems long term for me as I'm getting very forgetful now.

Thanks Dave, I haven't encountered any problems with the keyless ignition on my Forza. I changed the battery in the remote key I use all the time a couple of years ago as it was on its way out. The spare remote I like to put in an inside jacket pocket. Unlike the usual maxi scooter manufacturers You tube clips where the rider stores the remote a glovebox compartment.

Welcome one and all, including Dave, in case he’s forgotten that he was here before me.
PS. That “one bike that does it all,” is an urban myth. I stopped searching for it about a decade ago.

So far, I've had no problem wirthe keyless ignition on my Forza, Dave.
I, too, am becoming very forgetful but remember to deactivate the key when I hang it up in the place where I keep it. I think having it separate from the rest of the keys for the bike - topbox, padlock, etc. - keeps it in mind; I have it on a red boot-lace and keep it in my pocket when on the road.
I know some people have suffered from not being able to open the seat because the bike battery's gone flat; I cut a length of hosepipe ( a bit longer than the width of the seat) with which I keep the seat open under the cover so I'd be able to get at a flat battery to charge it.
