XMAX 300

Post by Macshean »

Hi all,
I’m bought a new XMAX 300 2024 model.
Just running it in at them moment. It will be due 800 kilometre oil change soon.

I’ve noticed there is a loud click from the rear left side when I start to drive first thing in the morning or evening after the bike sits all day or night.
Is that normal or a problem?
Thanks in advance.

Hello Macshean, Welcome to the forum. Not had an X Max 300, but I had a similar noise, on a previous scooter, a new 2019 X Max 400, it was quite a loud annoying metallic click/knock as the drive took up. It only did it when setting off, and it also did it on another X Max 400 during a test ride before I bought my X Max. I took it back to the supplying Yamaha dealer who said " they all do that it's nothing to worry about". I did about 8,000 , miles on it with no problems before trading it in back to the dealer. My current Forza 300 also makes a similar noise when starting off initially, I've had no problems during the 10,000 miles I've covered on it. I would mention it to them when you get you 800km service done, for your own peace of mind.

My 2018 mod with 18000 miles doesn't do it, could it be the other side and something to do with the rear brake?
