Cleaned CVT filter

Post by Ashbrook »

Following a few YouTube video guides man in a cave and michbergsma, I attempted to clean my CVT filter. Getting all the plastic off was time consuming but I managed it. Found that dabbing the foam with sellotape was a good way to clear off the debris.

Yes, just wash it in warm soapy water. Rinse & let dry. The foam is full of dirt..
Probably not ugly enough for the 'Ugly Bunch'!

Been riding for 55 years & owned too many bikes to list here...

I find the body work on the Burgman fairly easy to remove compared with the Honda deauville I had before, it gets easier with practice of course. I don't use the bike much in bad weather so the filter stays fairly clean it is important to check it though. I have used both man cave and mitch's sites but I find the best one is LeDudeshttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kb_0VUxm4MMhe has a few videos and they are all worth watching as all the detail is written.
Have you had the burgman long?

Had it for 3 weeks! Got it to how I like it, Givi Topbox, Givi, tank bag and soft panniers, elevated driver's backrest and a few RAM mounts.
Loving the ride!

You've been busy I've had mine two and a half years and I haven't done anything to it yet. Does the screen extendention make much difference I'd been thinking of getting one for mine, where did you get it?.

The screen without the extention caused wind to just reach the top of my modular helmet. Only noticeable at motorway speeds. Now it goes completely over my head. Get a push from behind though..

Thanks, it was the push from behiind I was trying to get rid of. Like you said it's only at motorway speeds but it soon gives me neck ache.
