Forza 350 drive belt replacement

Afternoon all. Just a post to let you know I changed the drive belt on my 7,700 mile, 2yrs 3month old bike today. It’s a relatively easy job, no plastic to remove and the belt itself, an OEM Honda part was only £45. Took the opportunity to thoroughly clean and wash out the casing. Wiped down all the parts. Took me approximately 2 hours in total but that included coffee and having to sort out my impact wrench which decided to blow a fuse. Overall I suggest anyone with the tools and the time can do this and save yourselves a fair few quid. Once reassembled I took out for a spin and what a difference. Perfect pick up, no juddering and engine using less rpm to reach speeds. There’s a fairly decent video on YouTube I used for reference, it was a good help.

Oh and as an aside, a couple of months ago I swapped the transmission filter and replaced the oil. Should do me a couple of more years.

Where did you find the torque settings for the various nuts and bolts or did you just do them on feel ?

No torque settings mate. As you say, on feel. I did my last scooter a Burgman 400 and did that on feel too, lasted three years so I reckon it was tight enough. I did it by bedding in the belt before fully tightening the nuts. Before reattaching the outer casing, tighten nuts as best you can then start engine, run the throttle up for around 20-30secs. Then recheck nut tightness, I needed to add a couple of more turns on the front one after that and it has tightened up nicely. Have had a good run up to 60mph and also around town for about 20 minutes. All good.

I did anyway. Gave it a clean, no big deal.

I now have a forza350. I had a Silverwing 600 and the belt could be changed without touching the clutch i just wondered if it was the same.

PS. Steve I came to Felixstowe last week without a Felixstowe visa! Does this disqualify me from ever going there again? Even if it's to meet you for tea & cake?

I've still got my Felixstowe visa, well for the dockside, I shoud have handed it in when I packed in driving. It's a place I'd like to visit as the seaside bit looks nice and I might get some decent photos of the ships coming and going. But it's a four hour quite boring ride from here so I can't see that happening anytime soon.

Without a visa? the visa police could have caught and detained you
I can get you a temporary residents permit and a cake and tea would be good
