Aftermarket screen for 2023 350 Forza

Post by Orcadian »

Hi folks,
What's the consensus regarding aftermarket screens for the 350 Forza? I fitted a couple of home made 'clamp on' side extensions which did improve things and being fairly tall, I needed the MRA Xcreen extender.

Now I know that the extra width is an improvement, is there a wider aftermarket screen anyone can recommend?

I had a Givi screen fitted by my dealer before I collected my 350 but I'm not sure it's better than the stock screen; that is, it's not as good for me as other Givi screens have been.
I am impressed by the 'ears' you have made and I'm contemplating following you down the MRA route.

I'm 6' tall, longer in the body than the leg, if you get my drift! ;)

Hi Mike,
The MRA certainly made quite a difference for me - I had one on a CBF600 SA8 a few years back which also was a great improvement. I might even experiment with the 'dog bone' links for next season to see if there is any difference. Another thing I've toyed with is the screen vent from a GoldWing SE which, when opened reduced some buffeting. That's a bit drastic though as it means cutting a 'letter box' hole in the screen!
I opted to bite the bullet and drill the Forza screen for the MRA but it can also be clamped if you are not sure.
I would be interested to know how wide your Givi screen is - preferably measured around the curve at the widest point, rather than just edge to edge. My side extensions made a difference and having a lathe makes it easy to make the button clamps.

Right!
Screen on highest setting, measured from the V in the black plastic: 22" / 68 cm
Screen on lowest setting, measured from the V in the black plastic: 15.25" / 39 cm
Widest point round the curve / front: 19.24" / 49 cm
Widest part straight across / back: 17.75" / 45 cm
At the bottom of the cut-out round the curve: 19.25" / 49 cm
At the bottom of the cut straight across: 18.5" / 47 cm

I hope this makes sense.

That's great Mike, thank you. I'll compare your measurements with the original when I get back out to the toy cupboard!
I suppose I've been spoilt sitting behind the proverbial barn door on the 'Wing for all these years but the Forza is not far behind for comfort and weather protection.

I have a Tmax and it's screen is great in bad weather as you get get right behind it when it's fully up, but, is a bit too protective in the summer. So I got a BCD lower screen and one of these extensions off ebay. It works really well, as I get a similar bubble of quietness and and as it clamps on, can easily be removed / adjusted. Well worth the £13 I paid for it: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/166955617827

Well Mike, that screen of yours is 90 mm wider than mine and a bit taller (without the Xcreen). My side extensions make mine wider, so I don't think I'd gain anything with your type. I've fired an email to Puig to see what they might have - I'll have to wait till New Year for any reply methinks.

Regards to all for a better riding season in 2025,

Well I got a great reply from Puig, saying they could supply a taller and differently shaped (lightly tinted) screen for the Forza for around £90 delivered to Orkney. Placed my order and less than a week later it arrived, very well packed. It is actually 130mm taller than the original and has those wind deflecting 'flutes' like the Puig one on my C125 Super Cub.
I don't think it will be necessary to fit the X-Creen to it as I think it will be tall enough without. It fitted perfectly and I will eventually report back after a few test rides. Can't do that at the moment - the bike is on the bench with the centre stand off for proper painting - there was just a light dusting of satin black and no primer on originally. Not quite normal Honda quality, so needs watching around frame welds as time goes by - 18 months and 8000 miles from new.

Looks good!
Is it the Touring or Sport screen?

Hi Mike,
They described it as the 'Touring' version. I'm about 5'10" and don't think I'll ever need it right up at the top. I always like to look over a screen, rather than through it. If it performs as well as the Super Cub one, I'll be well chuffed. I would have preferred a clear one but hey ho! These 'flutes' seem to make that Cub screen wider than it actually is in the wind - perhaps they are wind tunnel designed? I'm itching to get out on test with it as soon as I have re-fitted the stand - perhaps at the weekend if there's no more snow and ice.
