Bought srv 850 fit for the scrap yard

Post by artzzr »

Aprilia srv 850 , bought it with 13.5k revs
All was fine until every so often I could hear a crunching noise coming.on drive or letting.off throttle
Investigations show that 2 of the sliding blocks have broken up into pieces, this has also destroyed the riding.shaft and the toothed reduction gear , engine strip down to replace that
Biggest problem is the sliding.blocks are no longer available as an oem part
Does anyone know if these can be got anywhere as a replacment non.oem part or anywhere that could make some
Thanks

There will be engineering/machining shops around that could make them, the old flour mill where I work regular goes to a nearby shop to get parts rebuilt or made that are no longer available. Its in Harlow, Essex.

It shares a lot of engine parts with the Aprilia Shiver 750.

It might be worth a search or two to see if there is anything available tagged as for that model.
