Throttle position sensor Values 99-02

Hi,
I have a AN 400 K1 with a Keihin 36 mm carb.
The factory Manual states that the TPS resistance readings should be...5 Ohm (page 4-19) BUT, ..... Says Approx 5K Ohm on page 4-15 . (this is for the Black and Blue cables)

For the Blue to Yellow reading it states .. 3.09 - 4.63 K Ohms at W.O.T. (full throttle).

My TPS reads 5k ohm at rest,.. but at full throttle it goes DOWN to 1.5 K ohm.

This is the second TPS Ive tried , and they both display the same resistance figures.

Has anyone else had this?
Does it Matter ?
what am I missing here.?

Thanks in advance.

In 2003 did it have a TPS?
It is usually fed by a cable or two.

Dave the K1 and K2 models have a TPS on the carb.

I would guess that the role of a position sensor on a carburettor is for fuel saving and/or acceleration enrichment perhaps also for ignition timing tweaks. So if the scooter is responsive and has no hesitation or misfiring its best left alone.

roadster,
The TPS needs to be set in accordance with the manual....
My TPS , whilst ok for its baseline setting (5K Ohm), does weird shit that doesn't tie up with the manual specs.

I have 2 that do the same..
