Hello everyone,

My Yamaha XMAX won’t start anymore.

Before it completely stopped, it was repeatedly blowing the 5A fuse that controls the ignition. After I ran out of 5A spares, I (stupidly) put in a 7.5A fuse.
It worked for a short time like this, but one day it just stopped completely and hasn’t started since.
Now when I turn the key, the lights come on. When I press the start button, the starter tries to turn the engine, but it never actually starts.

Here are the things I’ve already checked and they all seem fine:

Fuse

Starter motor

Ignition coil

ECU

Spark plug

Does anyone have an idea what else could be wrong?

Stator or rectifier? Or a shorting cable, have you measured the voltage on your battery?
