Burgman 400 riders backrest

Happy Sunday 12 July Fellow Maxi Muppets. My first post on the forum. Not long home from my first lengthy ride on my new Burgman 400. Had a great trip from central Scotland into the southern regions of the Highlands and back. Got the scoot new and at the time I was looking there were No!!!!!! demonstrators to be ridden in Scotland. Sat on one in a show room and it felt good. On minor trips around town since collecting it, and the longer ride today have noticed the moveable backrest does not quite go back far enough for me. Another 25mm would have been perfect. Just sat on the scoot in the garden with the backrest off and the seat feels fine. Anyone else have this issue? I'm 5'11", inside leg 32". Don't want to ride it without the back rest as looks horrible with the holes exposed. Anyone else experienced this and any solutions? Thanks and hope to meet lots of you through time.

Hello and welcome from me too!
I have the same "problem" although I can mostly sort of ignore it and I'm 6'2" and 34" Leg.
When I first bought my second hand Burgman I saw somewhere that there was available a cleverly shaped and drilled metal plate that moved the backrest up and backwards a couple of inches. I searched the net and found a website in USA that appeared to list this adaptor, on visiting the site (years ago) I was hacked!
I did ask on this Forum if anyone had any info, cos with the right details it ought to be easy enough to make one of these adaptor plates, I'm still asking and hoping!
I still have that Burgman AN400K5, it's 21 years old now, not quite 25% of my age!
Goods Luck.
Robin.
