Scooters I've loved and lost - Forza 750

Post by Dr Gonzo »

I guess I was expecting this as it's been a couple of years since I last had a scooter stolen.

This morning, as I have done for around 12 years, I was volunteering at a local animal rescue cleaning cat houses when I had an alert on my phone from Datatool. Sure enough, by the time I got to the car park, the Forza was long gone. All that was left was the Abus Granite disc lock intact. I hate to think what they did to the brake disc.

All of this was caught on CCTV. The police were called and by the time they got to the last location reported by the tracker, there was no sign of the Forza.

The real kicker is my helmet (a Shoei Neotec 3, complete with built-in Sena intercom) was under the seat as were my gloves and custom-moulded earplugs. I'm also not trying to think about the full tank of petrol!

Shame Motorcycle Supermarket has just gone bust, they could have had my business. Currently, there's only one used Forza 750 on Autotrader.

Sorry to hear that 😕.

They'll have cut the disc itself like a slice of pizza with a battery powered grinder. I'm afraid disc locks are now next to useless. D-lock with grinder protection, so Litelok or Hiplock, is just about keeping up with the arms race against the thieving scrum ☹.

What concerns me more is how they defeated the immobiliser. Did they push it away? Yamaha's they just plug in the TEMU sourced emulator, but Honda's usually need a drill or soldering iron poked into the specific spot on the ECU.

Keep an eye on the tracker, they sometimes come back to life.

Hope the insurance decides to play nicely 😕

Really sorry to hear that. I agree with Andy, I have upgraded to Litelok X1.

Sorry to read of your loss. Do you think it was opportunist or someone who had seen it parked in the same place at the same time !

Mick.

The thieving scrotes are well known for riding the bridle path that runs beside where the scooter was parked.

A couple of years back, another volunteer hit a scumbag with her car as he was being chased by the police. Unfortunately, he wasn't seriously injured.
