only ever seen the OD light on when i click up from 5th to OD, nice for cruising between 60/70 mph & TBH the bike does sound more comfortable, i generally drop down myself so not sure if the bike will drop through the gears on Manual from OD ,
I'd recommend using it if on motorways for ages & not the M25 which you do ride above 50 mph

Certainly not the view on BUSA and I think (in this instance) the yanks have it right, though I have no vested interest as I only own an OLD one.tha-mask wrote:In auto you only ever see D light on, so you dont know what gear its in, though as its a CVT it doesnt have a Gear, in manual like the Mana I guess it just places the pulley at certain positions to simulate gears. I therefore believe in auto it is free to use the whole range including the range occupied by the OD option in manual. That's my guess anyway !!

Re: over drive button
If you are in Auto mode it does not go into Overdrive, if you check the revs at say 60mph steady right hand
then flick into Manual and up a gear you will see at said 60mph the revs are lower

Re: over drive button
I have found that below 70mph then there is a difference in rpm between OD and auto, however above 75 mph I dont see any difference.

Re: over drive button
sorry to drone on but changing from auto to manual at 65 mph goes to Gear 5 then you need to step up to OD, however sudden stops does drop the manual from OD to automatically dropping gears , lt appears the OD drop the revs but can be increased if accelerated , so i would say it's a rev limiter at 60/70 mph which as mentioned is a fuel saver
