For the last 3 days i have been working at Jim C's house a member of the x9 owners club and i have been looking at his Vespas and now am thinking do i really need a VFR1200 as it is big and i won't be using it for what it is built for.
So i have been thinking on getting a Vespa GTS 300, i have ridden the 250 and loved it but i think the 300 is right up my street. It is good for rideouts, popping out to see friends or to the shops and i do love the classic design, but the best thing is that it is a hell of a lot cheaper to buy, maintain and run than the VFR.

Several members of my scooter club here in the Colonies are folks, several of them ex Harley riders, who finally figured out that wrestling with all that metal wasn't any fun and wasn't worth their time and trouble. Although the VFR was built for the sport riders rather than the cruisers, the same applies.

Yep,I think youll enjoy a GTS300.A little bit wobblier than a maxi though, with the front fork being a single "Fork".
Had a GranTurismo 200 a few years back but had to get rid of it coz I couldnt re-reg it as 125

,
as easily as we used to do a few years back
L Plate Shaun..for now!

I was seriously considering one myself before I bit the bullet with the W800.
Go for it!

I love the retro style of the Vespa such a clean lines. The front fork design apparently is well sorted with anti dive geometry.
Might consider it myself in the future.

Aren't they a bit too girly for you John? I very nearly bought a GT but something didn't feel quite right, it didn't help that it was green.
You're like me John - big, butch, muscular and very very manly! In other words you're a bloke, a geezer etc. I just wouldn't have felt right on a scooter that looks so girly. I'm not saying I'll never own one because I probably will one day just to see what all the fuss is about but at this moment in time I'd rather have the X8 over a GT/GTS.
