Sat Nav use with 12v socket on Burger 400

On the Burgman 400 the 12v socket is placed rather poorly in the glovebox. If I attatch my sat navs lead the plug is too long and I cant shut the glovebox door, so cant use the sat nav. What do Burgman 400 owners do to overcome that, if anything please?

One of these:

I think Maplin do a slightly smaller one, though ebay will have the cheapest.
The Burgmans socket isn't in a very helpful place really

That wont work, the plug on the Sat Nav is the one that fits straight into the socket..... no USB connector.

On BurgmanUSA check out this thread.

See picture posted by Pict, it shows the plug with the lead coming out of the side. I use one of these on my Burgman and I can close the lid quite easily.
On the 400 where the battery is in the glovebox you can rig up a socket wired directly to the battery, just remember to use an in-line fuse for protection. This is also handy for connecting a battery tender etc.
Cheers,

Dave's solution looks very similar to the route I took. (...route... sat nav... I'll get my coat...)

Finally sorted this today. Bought a Tom Tom lead and USB plug that goes in the fag lighter socket of the Burgman.... but.... when I closed the glovebox it did bend the lead a bit too much so.... off to Halfords where I got this little twin port socket.
So, I now have a 2 port socket mounted on the right hand side of the glovebox. The USB socket plugs into that and I found a hole in the front where the battery lead goes to route the cable up to the headstock and it just tucks away behind the panel below the dash wen not used.
Bit of space lost in the glovebox though and all because Mr. Suzuki is a bit thick

I have just posted in a 650 post about this but the issue is the same.
Check my posts on the burgmanriders site on how I resolved the issue.

Don't tell Burgmanriders you're on here, they'll kick you off! The owner got all precious with us because we called our Burgman section Burgman Riders. He reckoned he had a worldwide copyright on every variation on the name, or something.
