Rear on the S-wing has only lasted 3000 miles (Conti Twist) and it's wet grip latterly has been awful.
What should i fit next time for best wet grip ? I can live with the short life if it grips in the wet !!
It's 130/70 x 12
Just back from a 675 mile weekend in mid Wales and you know what the weather in Wales is like. Lots of the wet stuff
The Conti is "tram lining" really badly (didn't when it was new) and seems to let go randomly depending on the surface. Nothing progressive there at all.
What's the answer.....please

Re: 12" wheel tyres
with the amount of green lane riding steve, its a pitty they dont do the mitchelin reggae in your size
id go for one choice, as the metzeler feel free does not look like it has the grip??? which are designed as winter tyres as then they will be more of the kind of tyre you need £32 delivered http://www.oponeo.co.uk/moto-tyre-detai ... #112715519
the metz is here but dont like the tread pattern for green lane riding http://www.oponeo.co.uk/moto-tyre-detai ... #113346830
id try the Kenda

Re: 12" wheel tyres
I got 7680 miles out of the original Honda Swing back tyre, then fitted a city-grip - which I only did about 3000 miles on before switching to a Forza 300 but it was wearing really well.
3000 miles seems very poor - what pressure do you run it at?
Is the top-box full, or are you carrying a pillion?
What roads are you using - dual carriageways or mix of urban & country lanes?
Dunlop superscoots suit the Forza 300 really well - I got 7500 on the back one and GN2 got 20,000 on his front tyre (only up to 13,500 so far but Front tyre won't need replacing at 15,000 when I expect to replace the rear tyre once more). Grip is good too.

Re: 12" wheel tyres
Riding pretty well flat out all the time and mostly long journeys. Real mix of roads from motorways to single track with grass in the middle. Very little urban commuting type use though.
Just me on the bike at about 12 stone. Minimal load normally but about 700 miles with full camping kit.
6900 out of the OE rear but mainly commuting from the previous owner.
Think it will be the Metzeler FeelFree Wintec next time for the rear.
