It was a better day weather-wise than last year which meant a lot more bikes.
I met up with 2 people I already knew were doing the run and chatted to several more who recognised me from previous runs (strange as I've only ever turned up to take photos and follow the run down and never on a FS1E or any 'ped )
Here are some photos from the start at Bolney. I just wish that photos could capture the heavenly smell of two stroks and the sound of the biggest "moped gang" you've probably ever seen all setting off at once!
Puch M50
Gaz67's FS1E/100 special
Cool custom painted FS1E
BSA Beaver (I used to have a 6'5" mate with one of these)
Fantic Caballero (you don't see many of those about do you?)
Yamaha RS125 special
FS1E special with Aprilia 50 watercooled motor
Yamaha YB100
Classic Yellow FS1EDX
Suzuki A50
Candy Gold drum brake FS1E
AJW Greyhound
Fantic Caballero (you don't see many of those...oh wait...!)
Garelli Tiger Cross
Y-Bomber YB100 special
Honda SS50
Classic purple 'un (I had 2 of these, cue old man speech " Wish I'd kept hold of those , yadda yadda, blah blah")
Purple FS1E special (it wasn't very well at times on the run but I reckon I saw it make it to Brighton)
Ace Cafe Racer FS1E special
Extremely (as in EXTREMELY!!!!!!!) rare imported RZ50LC
Lovely late 70s Yamaha XT500
A Gaggle of fizzies (this shot could have been taken in 1977 except for the lack of L plates!)
White FS1E special
Black FS1E special
White FS1E special
FS1E Rat (unsurprisingly I loved this one!)
Jaw droppingly gorgeous 70s Suzuki GT750
60s Honda CB92 250
Yes she did ride down to Brighton...and on her own Fizzie
This isn't her Fizzie either but I make no apologies for the photo
Suzuki X1 50
Aprilia 50 watercooled lump in a FS1E special
The start (and before the entire road was covered in a cloud of 2-stroke smoke)
Right, I'm off to scour the small ads for a 'ped to restore!

Cheers guys!
This Run is always a complete pleasure to tag along to and as I'm into these bikes a lot, taking the pictures is a labour of love, so to speak.

I wouldn't have said I did, that's the conundrum. However I still go to gigs in Brighton and have people saying "Dude you're that guy from Best Left Dead" which is seriously strange as I had a shaved head and long goatee beard back in those days!Ginger Phil wrote:You have a very recognisable face.capitano wrote:chatted to several more who recognised me from previous runs

Hey Ged (and everyone else)!
Have you seen the "Bottom" film "Guesthouse Paradiso"? It has a marvellous moped sequence filmed on the Isle of Wight.
Oh, look what I found:
