Lost it's unmistakable Tmax identity IMHO. A mish mash of design ideas that just don't really gel. The front is horrendous... Mark 3 all the way...

Re: Tmax 530
Don't know if it's a visual trick, but on the side-on view at the end of the video doesn't it look like the front wheel & fairing aren't "aligned".
Seems that the front wheel ought to be a foot further out to balance it visually. I realise the rake is set to make it more sportsbikey-like, but it also looks like the front forks don't line-up with the bars, so I guess there's some odd yoke set-up too?
Is that consistent with the Mk3 or something new, not being any sort of TMax afficianado?

Totally agree. The mk3 is perfect, the mk4 looks like a Kymco which is fine if it were Kymco money.Sgt Ernie Bilko wrote:Mark 3 all the way...

I was thinking...what's he on about? Then at the end I saw just what you meant!!! I think its due to the mudguard or wind deflector or whatever bit of plastic it is that's put onto the fork. It is at a funny angle, and is black, so its easy to think that it is the fork rather than a bit of plastic, so looks weird. The mk3 has something similar but smaller and less angular.poldark wrote:Don't know if it's a visual trick, but on the side-on view at the end of the video doesn't it look like the front wheel & fairing aren't "aligned".

I think that in general, the chassis and suspension are similar on the mk4 to the mk3, which got a major revamp in 2008, and is way above the performance of the engine.

Re: Tmax 530
The TMax never was a looker IMHO, although the mk3 has lots of lovely little details. The mk4 front end is pretty hideous, but so is the 'new' Aprilia SRV's. I think they are trying to borrow styling hints from their sportsbikes, which clearly isn't the way to go....

I think it looked much better in that vid than it did in real life at the NEC.

I think its nice, although I do agree, the mk3 was the nicest looker, but wow that £700 service bill recently expierienced by someone on this site has kinda put me off t-max's

Re: Tmax 530
Thinking about it Yamaha are just following a pattern. Gilera ruined a lovely design when they launched the Nexus inspired Runner range and Peugeot gave us a truly horrendous updated Speedfight 3. Although not my cup of tea the little Speedfight1/2 was a pretty aggressive and sporty looking ped that sold by the bucket load. They also had some striking paintwork and limited editions... just a shame both were adopted by the chav community.
Same for the Tmax. The mark one and two were well thought out and easy on the eye. I have a soft spot for the Black Max and although I didn't warm to the mark 3, the Frankenstein assembled mark 4 has made me appreciate the mark 3...
The BMW is one I'd like to try but I guess the German price ticket would push me to a nice, pre-reg Tmax mark 3...

I think the Mk3 White Max is one of the nicest looking scooters you could buy, I was offered a reasonable deal on a new one but still couldnt stomach the price even though my wife said buy it!
