Last Thursday @ 16:30 - 75 yards from my back gate, just turned into back ally doing about 2 MPH and Xevo just slides out from under me. Bike = A few scuffs & scratches. Me = Down like a sack of spuds. I felt my knee pop out of location and pop back in (is that a dislocation or a sprain or a strain?). I remember thinking, on the way down, 'That's not good'. Ambualnce to A&E who said they could not find anything wrong... X-rays show no fracture and there was no initial swelling (I have plump knees anyway). So I had to insist on a splint and sticks to aid walking. Knee was swollen Saturday, I am keeping it moving (sod the pain), thanks to Ibuprofen I'm keeping as mobile as I can.
PY said to replace the scratched panels will cost >£1,200

So I said I'd have Chips Away have a look first. Or I may just ride it with it's battle scars. If I'm not claiming on insurance do I have to tell them the paint is scratched?
Big thanks to Walter the Community Plod who was passing at just the right time to help me and the two lovely lady Paramedics in the ambulance. Slightly less kudos to the doctor in A&E who could not see a problem with my right knee... but I suppose they were very busy that day with loads of people falling over on the ice. I was in and out of A&E & X-Ray in about 3 hours, which I think is chuffing excellent.
I won't be riding for a week or two. I had hoped to make it to Traunt's Service but can't now. Sorry.
