Riding into work yesterday I thought my steering seemed a bit shaky. Pulled and pushed a few things when I got there but couldn't find anything. Thought it must be me imagining it. Started riding home and thought no there is definitely something up. I thought well I couldn't find anything earlier so I'll wait till I get home and have a proper look. As I pulled out onto the A13 I thought to myself check it you fecking idiot. You're about to do 80 ish MPH and your steering is shaking! So I turned off and the pictures are what I found. Limped it home through the back streets but managed to get it and me home safely an hour and half later!
I emailed Michelin about the tyre in case they would like to see it as it looks like de-lamination. They rang me pretty much straight back and we're making arrangements to get the tyre to them. They will examine it and advise me of their findings. If its just road damage due to pot holes etc they will let me know but if its a manufacturing defect they will compensate me! New tyre would be nice of course but not the reason for me contacting them. Pretty impressive customer service with a phone call and not a faceless corporate disclaimer email or just plain ignored!
