The story expresses concern at the plastics on the dash. I'm not surprised - I had one practically fall to pieces in my hand at the London bike show. Tried another two - both the same, fuel filler cap and glove box lids just came away when you touched them. Truly awful quality.
Paddle harder. I can hear banjo music!

Interesting....I seem to recall reading a while back that there would be a delay...now its possible that More Crap than News have only just come across the original story, but on the other hand, it has gone very quiet on the BMW front, though of course they did announce prices!

I read last December that production had started, so if they've found all the plastic bits are rubbish, then they are going to have one helluva job retrofitting all those they've made already!!

Well Chester Motrad or what ever they call them selves now will NOT be getting my cash, the T***s could not even be bothered to ring me back after telling me they would ring in ten mins.
Like wise Chester Honda the same, no be bothered to ring a customer back i will take my money some place else.
Like ColwynBay who could be bothered to ring me..testing tomorrow GN2 will be pleased to no

Lyn. PS: and i may also buy a new £5000 lid    But not the TGS

For £10k the quality needs to be top notch so if they've delayed it to fix the flimsy plastics then that's good news

Maybe MCN should've asked BMW about the engine issues instead of believing the issue was one of plastics quality??

Nowhere do BMW mention plastics, that was just assumed by MCN as they mentioned it in their report back to the readers. Personally, I'd classify Kymco as a supplier....right??

Well yes..we simply don't know. However, many journos and Muppets who saw the BMWs were deeply unimpressed with the plastics, including a glove box lid that could be opened whilst still being locked - so there is some reason to think that plastic parts might be the reason for the delay. Kymco stuff is normally pretty good.....

I hear you, just thought the plastic moldings would be an inhouse issue?? A little bird chirped about engine engaging when the new auto hand brake was on?? Which moves from a quality issue on to safety ???
