Hi i am new to scooting and loving it but need to move on a little i don't want motor bike i want to move into 125cc scooter i am 56 years old and would of been one of the last people to think about buying a scooter but i bought little 100cc honda lead for my stepson to ride a few miles to work but he changed jobs and never really used it so i said to the wife i am going to do my c.b.t and i have used this little scooter for the last 16months now i want to move on i have looked at a few scooters honda swing 125 ,Suzuki Burgman 125 , yamaha xmax 125 (impressive ) my local motor cycle work shop walking distance to my house . says japanese scooters are best although he sells pulse 125 scooters and says most bikes are built in china 14 miles away their is a Sym joyride 125 2009 1800 miles cheaper than honda,suzuki,yamaha i see Piaggio 125 Evo for sale i know they are italian simular price to honda swing 125 i want reliable comfort and economical enjoyable scooter to ride now and then not every day i like the freedom and parking is fun thats my space i drive every day for a living no enjoyment but the scooter is i have bought some proper wet gear very strong and warm for all weathers is the yamaha x max 125 worth going for new its feels quite a lot to make a mistake especially because only using now and then any help or advice thanks just feel confused with directions needed to have more focus by the way i am 5ft 11inch i have occasional back problem that gives me sciatica affects my left leg thats why i am happy on scooter i expect even that might be a problem one day but until then i like riding the scooter

The S Wing is a great machine, comfy, nippy and well made. It allows a few different foot positions too which might if your starting to creak a bit.

Having seen Dave's new SWing in action the other week and based on his amazing mpg to date I'd say that's hard to beat for your requirements.
Although you won't find too many nearly new to buy I suspect, so the Sym Joyride is certainly worth checking out too, see if you can get a little test ride and understand how it works for you. Sym have proven very reliable based on owners comments on here and are not a risk and are very good value.

Could anyone here who has ridden a Burger 125 give us their thoughts? My 400 is comfortable as heck and as reliable as the tides but they don't sell 125s in the Colonies.

A thing to keep in mind is not all 125's are created equal, some have less power than the max 12-14bhp the wifes yam vity 125 was only about 6bhp, so had less pulling power, something to look at.
The S-Wing seems one of the best options, But Sym are well known and dont seem to have any probs, and are well spec'd

Ignoring models and manufacturers, i highly prefer big wheel scooters to small wheel ones.
I've only ridden a Piaggio Liberty 125 and Honda Dylan 125, and both seem pretty good, but i'm not knowledgeable like others on the hardware side

well solved for now i have bought a little Honda Nes 125 it is very cheap it will do for now serviced taxed and on the road next week little bit bigger wheels 13inch instead of 10inch on honda lead
much wider as well if i can get some fun out of that and may be do my test i can move up to 250 or 300 cc i know if i take test on automatic i am tied to automatic thats fine i am happy time will tell
things are changing even in the bike world i drive automatic car c.v.t average fuel mpg 50/60 1.8 petrol different out look is coming in to bikes fuel cell suzuki burgman scooter , electric so on nobody knows what we may be traveling in or on in the future thanks for input just gets confusing all this talk of japanese scooters built in china ,chinese Scooter not to good or can't get parts other scooters showing rust after two months every body tells you this is the best but you have to look for proven track record this honda i have bought ? was built in italy now total confused its a job to know whats built where i had a Mercedes that was built in germany excellent bought a new one built some where else poor quality got rid never buy one again because of the difference i will keep you informed on progress thanks

i think you should look for 125cc scooter, i will recommend Eagle King Sport Cruiser 125cc Moped.
