Youre both right, Piaggios marketing skills are zilch.... maybe they are better abroad where they sell much better?Even in the 60s here in the UK they didnt have a clue about selling scoots, unlike Lambretta UK who outsold them with inferior products

The MCN site seems to be down [all day], but they have a demo at QB motorcycles in the Black country. I've watched a great video on you tube of an on board camera going right through Paris, and another couple of slick ones. Trouble is they are all in foreign speak.Telegraph is very complimentary as well.
I think it looks the dogs, and it's £650 cheaper than the new Burgervan 400. My Burger had better be very reliable for a while or it will be in for the [part] chop !

Scoot Infos has just posted an article on the X10-350 after having ridden it properly. There are some interesting plus and minus points I had not seen mentioned before, so I have highlighted them.

Every year at the approach of summer, the Piaggio Group is organizing a session running to discover or rediscover the press its range of maxi-scooters ... The occasion also noted that Piaggio is the leader in France in the scooter segment (50 + 125 + Max + three-wheeled LT) since 2011.
This year, the Piaggio invited us in the beautiful Luberon region, not yet invested by tourists who will surge in number over the next few weeks.
The opportunity to take full advantage of the beautiful roads around Bonnieux, we traveled in long, wide, and sometimes through (do not you Serge?) Riding an X10 350.
Balance sheet? With this scooter, Piaggio passes a course and we still offer one of the most homogeneous of current production. We knew he shone in urban areas, but the X10 350 is also excellent on the road.
Handling
With its long wheelbase hyper (1625 mm!), Its wheels 15 and 13 inch diameter pavement Michelin Power Pure hyper catchy and suspensions of very good quality, the X10 is a joy to drive on winding route. Precise and perfectly stable, it also fits easily into the path through the width of the handlebars for easy countersteering in the succession of corners. The mix between agility and stability is perfectly convincing.
We reached the limits of this cycle part only above 100 km / h in a great curve on poorly paved road: in this case, the suspensions are panicking a bit and encourage returning.
The ground clearance is sufficient alone, but the most aggressive and heaviest drivers are gleefully rubbing the left leg and right side fairing!
Engine
With 33 horses, the new engine 350 does not provide hair-raising sensations and for good reason: the X10 still weighs 200 kg with full tanks. That said, it nevertheless to have fun and has the advantage of not exposing yourself to too much wrath of the constabulary.
No problem to fit the fast lane or to double proper solo on county, but the capabilities of times their limits while carrying a passenger. In case of regular pairing, it is probably better to wait for the X10 500 (July 2012), however it will gain in force what you may lose flexibility.
Comfort
The X10 household plenty of room on board: the big guys are fully accomodated and can extend their legs forward position custom. Legs that are so well shielded by the side deflectors as standard: as it is rolled, the pants stay dry in a storm. The windshield is properly sized and does not cause eddies or wind noise. The smallest will like this all the scooter because the seating is low and not too wide.
However, despite the quality of the suspensions (which are however no miracles on poor surface), back pain, the famous "scootérite" occurs after 2 days of intensive driving. This is logical since the legs are struggling to absorb shocks. The passenger sharing this observation while enjoying the back seat, despite its width, deemed too important, and footrests are too narrow.
Security
The optional traction control and associated with, the first world on a scooter, the ABS is well calibrated and has never shown the dry. This three-disc braking front to rear is coupled to the lever left, which corresponds to the vocation of GT X10. We deplore the levers just too wide penalizing the feeling if one small hands, and an escalation too pronounced with such tires and safety of ABS.
The ASR is triggered only rarely in the dry. Although ... we have not met on the gravel roads of the Luberon. And it certainly contributes to the serenity of driving in the wet.
The dual illumination optical m seems very effective and can in any case be clearly visible in traffic. Reprinted from X9, the horn is worthy of a car.
Practical Aspects
The trunk of the X10 is just immense and its accessibility by opening mini jack saddle. Too bad the pockets left is not deep, which would have allowed to slip easily over a Michelin road map. The sidestand automatically activates the parking brake: great idea!
Rate
A € 6,699 with ABS / ASR, the X10 350 is perfectly in line with the competition ... of 400 cm3. The Burgman and Majesty does not seem a priori to compete. Only the twin of Honda SW-T (400) may assert greater power and flexibility.
