i had a load of chavs pull up at lights next to me once when i had my runner

revving the bollocks off there speed fights and aeroxes

my runner had a scorpion pipe on it and burbled farily quietly until throttle was opened

so one rev later they all shut up

I was waiting at a road junction on my Foresight and a bloke I vaugely know asked condescendingly " cant you use a clutch "

I replied "Errrr yeah I passed my PCV (bus) test 20 years ago in an old Bristol double decker with a crash 'box, drive a manual car, and also ride an LML with gears so the answer to your question is Yeah I can use a clutch you Kn*b"

This from a bloke in his late forties who still lives with his mum, has never passed any kind of driving test, and rides around on an ancient push bike

Personally, I would rather they were in front of me so that I can keep an eye on them, but sometimes, it's just not possible.
In those cases, I take great delight in being forced to overtake them nice and gently, with absolutely no effort whatsoever.....
I gotta say though, that the only negative comment I've ever had was from my niece who insisted on calling my Yamaha Vity a "ped", despite the fact he she rode a Honda Shadow 125, which pulled away much slower than mine did, and she could only start by bumping it.

Not really had many comments about whatever I've been riding except when I ride the Guzzi, then I get men saying that a woman shouldn't be riding such a bike. Riding scooters I've never had any comments at all. So, this comments rubbish seems to work both ways, but it doesn't really matter because I don't really care who I leave tyre tracks over or what with.

What used to piss me off on my daily commute were the big bikes blocking me because they couldn't judge the width of their machine or lacked the confidence to filter.

I'm off to Swallow Falls this weekend for small NABD rally, last year on our ride to Conwy for Fish & Chips, beer and ice cream we had a Gold Wing rider in the group and he could chuck that about like a 50cc ped. It's usually the rider not the bike that's the problem in my experience.

I really have seen it all now. A teenager riding a Yamaha ybr 125 at about 50 in a 30 limit came bombing past in my village today (not exactly unusual I know ) but 10 minutes later he came past in the opposite direction with both hands off the handlebars whilst he fiddled with his mobile phone !

Also he was wearing just shorts and a tee shirt so when the inevitable accident happens the emergency services will be scraping what's left of him off the road.

my neighbour... he not a bad feller... he a bit of a fairweather newish biker in his early 30's... had A CBR600R with all the gear etc... got knocked off that on the m25..(sideswiped in heavy traffic).. and has not owned a bike since.... any way... the few times i pull up outside our flats on me x8.... he does have this grin which i know he is kinda thinking... why the f would you ride that.... i explained i have ridden all the sport gsx zzr zzzZZZZzzzz bikes and am content with a practical fun scoot nowdays...

he nearly spewed when he saw me come back from morrisons with me weekly shop... i unloaded it on path beside bike...and he could not believe how much shopping i had carried on it.... included 2 boxes of lager...and full use of curry hook... whooopeeeeee...!
