I have no shame in admitting that I "nicked" this thread from another forum as I found it quite informative and a little amusing.
It all started when I was 12 with an old Vespa 125 "Field Bike" in 1964.
Then at 16 first road bike was a BSA Bantam D14/4 I can't remember the dates forthe rest but here goes.
BSA C15, Suzuki B120P, EX-Plod BSA Lightning, Suzuki TS185, Honda CB 750, Yamaha 350LC X's 3, Yamaha 350 YPVS X's 2, Honda 600 Hornet, Yamaha XJ 900, Honda VFR 750 then 2 X's 800's, another Hornet, HondaST1100 Pan, BMW R1100RT, Yamaha Fazer, Honda ST1300 Pan, Yamaha FJ1200, BMW R1150RT, Honda CB1300, Suzuki Burgman 400 X's 4, Triumph Bonneville X's 4, Honda SH300, Honda Lead, Vespa GT200, Yamaha Majesty 125, Suzuki GXF 650, Harley Davidson 1600 Street Gluide(tha t was a very low point), Vespa 125 (geared) the list is not in "Chronological" order but I am currently running a 2010 Burgman 400 and in the round it is probably a better all rounder than any of the above especially in the enviroment that we currently live.
How did you get there.
Geoff.
How did you arrive at your Burgman.

Re: How did you arrive at your Burgman.
my route was a tad quicker than yours,
2001 Piaggio zip 50cc deristicted 51 plate
2008 Piaggio X8 125 cc 56 plate
2012 Suzuki burgman 650 executive 09
I started off by buying the zip because the trams are coming to Nottingham, what with all the traffic chaos i bought one early, at the time they were to be iminant coming to us
I was enjoying going to and fro to work but I was always being cut up by cagers thinking I was a teenager, so i got the x8 125
I loved that scoot i went everywhere including pie & mash fron Nottingham to Walton on the Naize and back all in a day,
took me test last year July now I got me a burger 650 exec

I've been on and off two-wheelers since I was a kid putting lawnmower motors into milk crates and scraping myself off dirt roads in northern New Jersey - and that was close to 60 years ago. Here are my favorites over the years:
1974 Suzuki TS185 - Bought in 1977 and used as a second vehicle after I married. Those were the days when the wife rode, too.
1976 Honda CB500T - Bought in the mid-80s cheap. All it needed was a good freshening up and it served for many years.
2006 JMStar 150cc scooter - Cheap, Chinese, got me back on two wheels, 12,000 trouble free miles before it blew up.

Re: How did you arrive at your Burgman.
I've had too many bikes over the years, some secondhand, some new. But all good fun. Can't remember all of them (suffered a brain viral attack a few years ago which wiped some of my memory) but I started on a C50 Honda, C90 Honda, James Captain 150cc two stroke, Honda 125 Benly C92, Honda CD175 (superb bike), MZ250 two stroke, Triumph T90 350cc Tiger, Suzuki GT500, BSA 500 A7SS, Truimph Bonny 650cc, Interstate Commando 750, Suzuki DL1000GT, Suzuki GSX1400, Suzuki Burgman 400z abs (best one!). There are some others in there but I don't know what they are/were. Wife can't help either as I had them before she met me. But anyway, I'm here now and loving every minute of it. Scooters forever!!!....

Probably not ugly enough for the 'Ugly Bunch'!
