this isn't in the scooter for sale area yet as I am not selling until september,
basically I want a 400cc k9 burgman, in order to do so I must sell my s-wing 125 ABS with the propper honda all in one key top box set up
It's black and will be near enough 10,000 miles by september, been properly serviced, cleaned and looked after.
how much do you think I should stick it on bike trader for?
And am I choosing the right 400cc burgman?
Thanks!

Re: Value of a second hand S-Wing
Hi East Anglian, I'm afraid I can't help with the price of your used S-Wing, but others will be along soon to tell you. I am biased as I have a Burgman 400z abs L2, but yes your choice of Burgman is ok. The clutches on the K9's onwards are all the heavier duty better cooled versions. Having said that, most earlier models should in theory have been upgraded by now but I know of at least one '08' that had the old clutch in it when purchased a few months ago. So by buying a later model you make sure you have the latest clutch. So, I would make it as late a K9 as you can or even an L0 as the price difference between them is not very much especially if you shop around. There are virtually no other differences other than paint colours etc and some differing specs like abs, heated grips, passenger backrests etc all available as extra's (accept abs) or standard on the 'Limited' version. The engines are bullet proof and can go massive mileages before any spannering is needed. Amazingly, I would imagine MPG's won't be too much different to what you get now depending how you ride. I get anywhere between 76-85mpg all the time depending on the sort of run and how fast I want to go. I've never had mine over 90mph, but that's fast enough for me as I'm normally a very law abiding citizen. My 400 doesn't use any measurable amount of oil. The level is always the same. I run mine with Ultraseal in the tyres (and it works!) so it's a very very good bike to go anywhere on be it across europe or into town! Keep posting to let us all know what model you get and how you are getting on with it. Good luck.
Probably not ugly enough for the 'Ugly Bunch'!

I'd say you should advertise it for £1800 - £2000ish depending on age. I paid that for mine with 2k miles and full service history although I haven't seen one like that with that milage for that price anywhere (I got lucky). When you sell it be sure to let them know about this place, don't want to lose another S-Wing owner

I brought a new ABS125 in February for £3300, it retails at £3800, they all come with a top box. If it's 12 months old, the trade in would be about £2300 and private sale about £2500. Normal mileage is 4000 miles per year, so yours could be on the high side.
It should sell well, they are a really good scooter.

I didn't realise it was only 12 months old! Sorry! I thought it was about 2009 for some reason. I think you'll be doing well getting £2500 with 10k on the clock but you never know. Have you looked on biketrader for the prices there?

Re: Value of a second hand S-Wing
You can still buy brand new 400 Burgmans on Bike Trader for £4995 if you like to travel just a little to the dealer concerned or you can have it delivered to your door. The brand new 'Limited' ABS version is around £5999 on Bike Trader. You may find you can get a good 'Trade In' deal against a new 400z ABS Burgman too. I traded my Vstrom and was offered the FULL retail price of the bike against my new Burgman. It saved a lot of hassle. The dealer still made the full profit on the Burgman. This is a good time to put the feelers out at the Suzuki dealers as the new registrations are coming out in less than 3 weeks and they are keen to move as many bikes as they can and will bend a bit I've found. There aren't so many used ABS versions on the market yet, but it's worth looking if you are not in too much of a hurry. You will find one I'm sure. On the note about abs, I too had reason to bless the fact that I had it on my bike just a couple of weeks or so ago. I very nearly hit a muntjac at 60mph and would have if it hadn't been for the abs. It's the only time in my life and 43 years of riding I've ever been in a situation where I've really needed it. It works!

Re: Value of a second hand S-Wing
Cheers everybody!... think I shall be trying to list at around £2250 then.
Nice amount towards a burgman!..
The bike has been on the road since December, so 10,000 miles since then hence why I need to upgrade to a larger displacement scooter, longer servicing intervals!
I shall get a pay out from my insurance for around £3000 in september (was a PCX rider), so I hope to put this all towards the new burgman you see.
Thanks everybody!
anybody want to sell a burgman 400 k9 model this september? lol!
