Depends on the journey whether it will be quicker.
Long journeys a car is potentially faster because of the increased fuel range.
Short journeys in heavy traffic a bike is usually quicker but add on the time spent getting kited up and changed at the other end....
Most of the time there's not really too much in it.
IMO the best way to remove stress when riding or driving is to leave far earlier than you have to, observe the speed limits, relax and enjoy the ride.

I'm with you 100% gn2. One of my offices is only fairly local and it takes me an hour in the car and hardly any less on the bike as it's not easy to filter through the gridlock and as you say, getting kitted up and changed at the other end takes it's time (and hanging all my gear up and putting it in the cupboard if my wife is reading this ;) ). Thing is, it feels like next to no time and I arrive chilled out because I'm not listening to depressing news and weather on the radio, can't answer my phone, I'm not trapped in a car and I'm breathing in the fresh carbon monoxide of Manchester. What could be better? Saying that, the 300 mile round trip I have to do weekly to Newcastle has started taking it's toll on my body but hopefully, joining the Muppets should help that!
