Hi Everybody from a Piaggio X10 owner
I had been riding a Gilera ST200 for about 5 years but wanted something a bit bigger with more power. I decided on a Piaggio X10 2 months ago, I have done 750 miles so far and really love it. I live in Jersey so most trips are very short but looking forward to taking it over to France in the summer when the weather finally improves. Hoping to learn more and get advice from you who also own this fantastic scooter.

Hi Pete and welcome.
I am a fellow X10 owner. Do you have the 350 or the 500? I have the 350 as thats the only one you can get in the UK however i have just ordered and paid for a 500 from a dealer in Calais should be collecting it ay the end of May. I love the 350, its style and performance and fitting the matching 50 litre top box really finished it off. I have covered 2800 miles since October 2012 in all weather except the snow and was suitably impressed with the amount of protection you get particularly the pillion. I am going to spend a couple of days in France when I pick the scooter up its 17 years since I have toured France so a little trip is long overdue.
Hope you continue to enjoy this amazing scoot.

Hi Frank
Thanks for the welcome. I have the 350 as well, same colour as yours and I must say yours looks good with the 'rather expensive' top box. I was thinking about getting one as well but with so much storage under the saddle I haven't gone for it yet. Interesting that you are changing up to the 500, I look forward to hearing your comparisons between the 2 models, I am very happy with the 350 although more power plus the adjustable suspension system do appeal.
Thanks also to Mottza, Clive and Michael for the welcome.
Mine is the newest of only 3 Piaggio X10's in Jersey, I have experienced on a few occasions the starter not reacting when pushing the starter button, this happens a few times and it then works. I have reported this fault to the local dealer and it turns out that one of the other ones here with almost 3k miles has recently started doing the same thing. Have any other owners experienced this fault?

Hi Pete
Not had a problem with the starter but the petrol flap and seat buttons stopped working. I think the Piaggios dont like damp weather, lol. My dealer sorted them under warranty of course. Also had to have a new exhaust all the paint started to peel off and the headlight was full of condensation again all resolved under warranty, BUT it is still a fantastic scooter and looks amazing especially in pearl white.
Will keep you updated on the 500 once I get my hands on it.
