Sunday 5th

Post by Earl »

Anyone got any ride planned for this Sunday 5th May? I was thinking one of the usual haunts like Ponda or Raven????

We decided on Cumbria and the West Cumbrian coast, a few miles from the coast is the Cold Fell road we stopped to look over at the Sellafield site and the Irish Sea and Isle of Man in the distance. A few miles further down the coast is Ravenglass a nice little village on an estuary where we stopped and had Cumberland Sausage. It's also the home to the 'La'al Ratty the narrow gauge Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway and worth a visit if you like steam trains.

Then we rode past Muncaster Castle, down a steep hill and took a very narrow road into Eskdale and followed the road up to Hardknott Pass but going over it wasn't part of the route. After that we took some quiet back roads that took us back to Cold Fell and then on to Cockermouth for tea and scones. Then it was back on the A66 for the ride home, I'm knackered but it was a good day.

I do have Kippers regulary( my wife is from Isle of man) so it is usually Manx Kippers. I was at the Raven Cafe on St Georges day last week, a lovely warm day and not much traffic most enjoyable. My son in law is asking for a ride out tomorrow, so we'll be out and about somewhere. Hope your enjoying retirement ;)

Made a late start on Saturday but, plenty of bikes at Hawes. Only my Silverwing and Paul's Burgman 650 in the Scooter range though. Sunday we went to Southport, again plenty of bikes but only a Kymco 300 scooter with us. A really fine and sunny day, lets hope this weather keeps up. :D

That's what happens when you quote yourself and then delete it to shorten the post, it send the latest post back to the date of your quote.

Looks like you had a long day, and a good ride, I usually like to be home for 4pm most days and especially on Sundays as i don't stop for eats ,just tea and cake. I have my meals at home. :)
