Cover for a 650

Hi there,

Can anyone recommend a cover for a 650? I'm moving to a house with no garage so it's got to live outside. I need something that can be secured to the bike to make theft a bit difficult too.

you will need an extra large cover, usually on the good ones they will have elastic to rear and front and the front will have additional holes for a chain, ( if you can get holes both ends better) and the centre has a belly strap to go under the middle, some of the expensive one dont have all this, but this is what i use with 3 chains to ground anchors and the wind dont get it either

check length of scoot 250cm and heigh and width is 150cm ish so check your scoot

Oxford Products do one. It fits my 400 just fine and the 650 is the same size. Don't know the model number or anything, and as I have had it a fair while I can't remember how much it was. All I remember though is it wasn't cheap. But it is quality, being made of thick material and well put together and will last for years. Have a look at the website. It is black and silver and has pockets for a solar charger etc and holes for a chain. it is also elasticated and has a belly strap. Go for large and you can be sure it will fit.

I too have the big Oxford cover, it used to cover the 650 OK..
with the screen down i think it was for the Goldwing and other big tourers

Sounds like mine. I bought it from the dealer I had the Burger from and I was told it would fit a Goldwing.

If you have a local TK Maxx the silver Oxford ones often appear in there very cheap.

I'm not keen on soft covers because they dull and scratch plastics/paint as the wind moves them around (it did on my GRP car bodies anyway)

I think those garden tool storage things that B&Q etc sell are better, more weatherproof and they disguise the bike.
There are bicycle sheds too, or build a DIY version.

Security is tricky if you can't concrete a ground anchor or eye bolt into the ground/wall (to Maxx have cheap ground anchors too with a hardened cover and security bolts)
How about large tubs of set concrete? Put them in a tight space to make it hard to get a grinder in or break them up

Thanks for all of the advice guys. It will have to be the Oxford because the bike will be on the street. I may have to replace it from time to time. I think one of those tenty things would soon be gone!

the oxford one i posted is the cheapest one i could find , of that one... the belly strap and putting a chain thr front wheel will stop it disapearing thu wind anyways
