Thanks for the information, I decided to go with the safe bet and bought a ultra low mileage Honda 2013 ex demo Forza instead due to concerns about support and service.

My local Honda dealer is only a mile down the road which is just as well as the bike started leaking oil / water onto my driveway one week into my ownership... hopefully I should get it back next week.....
Hmmmm....if you'd bought the Daelim and it leaked, we'd have all said 'cheap nasty Far Eastern shite', but I'd be very unimpressed that your Honda leaked! Not sure that this 'safe' bet is working out!

Not the first Forza to do that, there have been a couple of instances reported of waterpump seal failure.

Just as well I went for the italian X10 then, which has been faultless. Its only done 800 miles though ;)

There have been problems with X10s too.

You kind of expect problems with a Piaggio - though I've had problems whatsoever with the Bev - but you really don't expect Hondas to give trouble. After all, its a premium brand (even though the Forza is made in Thailand), and its what you pay a premium price for.
There again, I had various electrical gremlins with the mk2 Tmax and radiator troubles with the mk3..........

I wonder if Honda are using the wrong engine coolant again in the forza like they did the 600 Silverwing a few years ago. Silicates are death to water pump seals and that is amazingly what they used in the Silverwing with the result of failing water pumps and seals. Having said that, Honda isn't stupid so probably just a batch of dodgy water pumps or seals.
Probably not ugly enough for the 'Ugly Bunch'!

Not related to coolant type, its a manufacturing problem: http://www.hondapcx.org/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=2006" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Ah, yes. That makes sense. At least Honda will sort any bikes that have the problem. No sign of any probs on your bike Gn?

Honda are well aware of the problem as the dealership were able to tell me what the problem was within minutes of putting the bike on the ramp.... in spite of the problem it is a nice scoot and rides well.......

Will chance my arm and see if they will in a free service or two for my inconvenience :) :)

There is a very slight oil misting but that could be from over zealous centrestand lubrication at its 8000 mile service because it was getting sticky.
The affected waterpump area has been checked out by the dealer and was found to be OK.
I'll be keeping an eye on it, but at almost 11,000 miles now I reckon it'll be OK and if it was going to be a problem would have happened by now.
Fingers crossed and all that.
The rear disc and pads got changed under warranty, brake caliper right next to the exhaust is far from ideal.....
Even for simple cleaning the exhaust has to come off to get at the caliper.
Same issue as the SH300 I believe.
