Cubs in the New Forest

Post by capitano »

After years of procrastinating and having taken leave from the patch club scene I bought myself a C90 this year with the intention of having some fun and doing a few rides with te C90club forum folk.

The first one I attended was this weekend in the New Forest near Lymington. The ride-out was one of the best I've ever done, over 8 hours around the New Forest and Dorset.

Here are a few photos.

Image

I didn't take the direct route via the A27/M27 as one of my favourite Southern roads promised a less direct but more interesting route. Oh and one of my favourite fry-up cafes was half way. :)

Image

The Friday weather forecast promised some rain, but a mild tea-time sprinkling aside, this is as bad as it got.

Plenty of bikes on site for the Saturday morning start of the ride-out.

Usain Bolt was too pricey to book for the ride's official start.

Sadly, because of an insect bite that turned bad I had to head home On Saturday night, but I'm sure that the merriment continued. :D

Looks really good - glad the weather held out for you.

White vinegar for nasty bites; dab on with one finger if they're not too bad and for bad ones soak a bit of cotton-wool in vinegar and use a strip of sticking-plaster (I use Tesco Micropore tape) to hold it in place.
It really does work......and it's cheap. :D

The Citroen is owned by 'Diesel Dave' owner of a green C100 and a Royal Enfield Diesel, always nice to have along on a busy bike ride, car park voyeurs move rapidly out of the way when he arrives, unusual to hear a dumper truck engine coming in.
I wish I could have gone, the wife had a bad back and could not manage the old staggering Labrador on her own, also the Innova got exchanged, however another 'fit in the van bike' could be on the way soon.
Nearly all the participants, have or have had bikes for many years and really are good company, it's more about using these little bikes and enjoying being out in this great country of ours, enjoying visiting places of interest. It does not have to cost much either.

Sounds like a good attitude and a good bunch of people, much better than the "ride your sports bike 20 minutes to a cafe to talk crap about how you raced a sports car" willy-flapping posing exercise that seems to proliferate around here in the summer. Mind you, the silly fucks crash so often it's a wonder there are any left for a meet up.
