Burgman Meet / Rally DATE CHANGE

Whoops – A really BIG APOLOGY coming up.
I got the date wrong. I did check the calendar and it looked clear but apparently there’s a
family event – a Wedding – on that weekend. It’s long planned but totally forgotten about by me.

When my Mrs put it onto this years calendar I thought Oh ****!

The upshot is that I can do the following weekend which is the 6th June or if that inconveniences too many then perhaps someone else could take over the 30th of May meet up.
I feel selfish, (and foolish) at this point but if we can change the date if possible. This is probably going to help some and piss others off.

Bearing in mind the new proposed date I will make some enquiries at Duxford just in case there is something special on that would affect our plans.

I'm probably in for a hard time but here goes. Is there any interest in a Burgman Rally or Meet?

Firstly any one up to help with this if it takes off?

When? I don't know yet but possibly between the end of May to mid July sometime. Could even be September if there's to many clashes with other events or Holidays.

Where? I have no idea but the aim would be to pick somewhere interesting centrally (ish).

How long for? This depends on the level of interest. Personally I would have the weekend away but the meet would be on the Saturday with possibly something on the Sunday.

Ride out? Again depends on level of interest. Possibly to a good lunch somewhere.

Accommodation? Depends on level of interest

I intend to put this idea onto the X9 forum where a few Burgmans hang out and also the dedicated Burgman forums and Facebook pages.

Right its out there lets see what happens.

I know they have one make meets in Germany but they have the numbers and seem more inclined to do well organised events.
Me, Clive and Craig used to have our own Tmax rallies, a few years ago but they've both gone big wheeled now!
Over here, it's a struggle to get any scooters to turn up on an agreed date.
I mainly see you, your lad, Victor and mark Bluebottle on Burgers. Plus the odd other one.
And rarely all at the same time.
Good luck with it but I think you'll struggle to get more than a few.

But to be honest, I think smaller numbers are better! travelling round in a big convoy is a pain in the arse.

We were in big maxi scooter meet in 2011 in Marl Germany lot from Poland on big burgers .Last one as German health and safety tightened up after few killed at pop concert .

Just had a look at old web stuff for Marl .930 people from 9 countries attended 670 maxi scooters counted .Gives something to aim for

Have you thought about doing Flanders one in June ?

Hi Julian

This is something I fancy doing and the Flanders visit appeals to me personally I must say. I am not sure that persuading some riders to go to somewhere in middle England might be tough enough though. But I really appreciate the thought.

Few of us were going to Flanders one but Im doing Vespa rally instead now and they are same weekend .So not sure about others now .
