A returning Muppet...

Hello at all

Delighted to find the Muppet forum is still alive and well.

I was one of the early users here and went under the username Drzoom in those days. Used to ride scoots from my home in Dunfermline to work in Edinburgh. My main bike was a red Honda Dylan which served me well for over 3 years and 15k miles.

Unfortunately 2007 was a scootering nightmare. The Dylan got wrecked by a 4x4 driver not paying attention on a roundabout. Recovered from that and bought an X-Max 125 from a fellow forum member. Had that for only 6 weeks and wrecked it misjudging a bend down in the Borders (entirely my own fault, stupid, stupid, stupid). Recovered from that and bought an Aprilia Sportscity 125. Had that for 6 weeks (I'm not making this up honest), when a taxi veered into the Edinburgh parking bay I'd always used, wrecked my bike and two others.

At this point I just gave up. Shortly after I moved back to Edinburgh anyway so there was no real need to have a bike. However it's a bug that gets under your skin so last year I bought a Sym 50cc for using around the town which I could ride on my car license moped entitlement. Really enjoyed it although the lack of speed was an issue if I wanted to go on slightly longer runs. After some though I have decided to re-do my CBT and put a deposit down on a 2014 model PCX 125. After my positive experiences with the Dylan, Honda was the only manufacturer I seriously considered.

CBT is next Saturday (it will be my 4th !!) and I collect the bike the following week. Quite excited !!

My latest CBT completed yesterday, good fun and handy for ironing out a few bad habits that have crept in while I had the wee 50cc.
Insurance sorted out, good deal from Bennetts who I've used before so all set to pick up the PCX on Tuesday !
