Hello.
Just acquired 2012 Tmax with a few mods. Polini variator, Akrapovic etc.
Question for those owning Tmax's...
Am thinking previous owner has put 4 no. 14gr and 4 no. 15gr rollers in the Polini hi-speed variator (I believe it is supplied with 8 of each and I have 4 left over in the box).
Scooter is fast but very noisy & revvy round town (where I ride all the time).
Has anybody put heavier rollers in a Polini variator to lower the revs? Mine seems to run on constant throttle at low speed at 4K rpm and jumps to 5.5k rpm at the slightest throttle opening. Engine is pretty grunty so am thinking it doesn't need such gearing and to make so much noise to get a move on.
Thanks
Andy

Re: Tmax 530 question
Hello Andy. Welcome to the madness of Muppets.
Personally I never understand why anyone faffs with weights and variators. I'm sure Yamaha's engineers know a thing or two about them. I'd swap it back to standard. I'm no mechanic so I could be opening gob and inserting foot but someone on here will know!
