Hi from Scotland and is there Burgman alternative?

Good day. Aging owner of classic bikes from Scotland here. Also have had 2 burgmans and a 250cc Gemma which I have just sold. Absolutely love a burgman for many reason but looking for something lighter that will maybe give me similar legroom and weather protection. For what I am reading a cruisym 300 maybe fits the bill. I do like to ride FF for comfort. I have sat on a Kawasai 300 and found it it bit short. Is there anything that will give me burgman comfort or is that a big ask in a smaller scooter. Regards Bob

I’ve had a few burgmans and now have a Forza 350. I’ve added a Givi Maxia box and taller/wider screen and now the bike has ample storage and weather protection. It’s also 50kg lighter so the loss of a few BHP is offset by the weight loss and in my experience the bike pulls as well as the burger. Take a look at Forza, you’ll be surprised.

Admittedly a fair while back, but I found a Cruisym test spin just a wee bit limited for my 32" inside leg.

The Forza is a great scooter and I really like my 300, however if you are tall, the Forza is not a feet forward ride ( few scooters are, if you are tall ). I'm 6'3" and I can ride mine reasonably comfortably, but not feet forward. It's been a keeper though, and has lots of other plusses, it has been the best scooter I have owned, and I have had a few.

I have the 125 Sym Joymax which I bought for its reasonable underseat storage and overall good specification such as ABS. But I was surprised to find leg room a bit cramped because the footboards are excessively high. Since the 300 version is exactly the same body wise it may not suit you. I don't know if other Syms of this capacity have similar riding positions.

There are some Kymco models you could look at but as you have already tried the Kawasaki 300, which was based on a Kymco, you may have no luck with those. The Kymco AK550 was in a league of its own but very expensive given the poor dealer network etc..

Thanks for the info guys.. Is kind of what i was expecting. There is a 2016 Forza in a shop not too distant from me. I may go and have a sit on it and see how it feels. I am not sure there is anything smaller that will match the comfort and legroom of the Burgman. But will keep testing the water.. may just have to go back to old faithful in the end.

I’ve got short legs so find I took a while to get used to seat height. However I’ve adjusted to it and now have no problems. Of course this gives me the benefit of feet forward.
