I've had a Berlingo for 15 months.
It had a few minor sensor problems soon after I bought it second-hand; otherwise and since then it's been fine.
It's a 1.6 manual diesel.
Apart from the fact it's French, my only dislike is that it's a bit wide; I've owned Japanese cars since 1988 and they were all slim.

Alan, you could do a lot worse than a Citroen. Several of us on here have them & don't get any issues.
Probably not ugly enough for the 'Ugly Bunch'!

Yes, I too love the good old Berlingo. You can't go far wrong & easy to service from a techs point of view.Waldorf wrote: ↑Mon Jun 03, 2024 6:43 pm I've had a Berlingo for 15 months.

Re: Vespa is going!! Update: now gone/new bike pics!
We used to have a Picasso petrol 1.6 good car but a bit gutless fully loaded, it died a death when we hit a hill. My daughters on her second Berlingo, first one was a petrol manual and despite her best efforts it survived. It finally failed it's mot because the sliding door locks (old type) failed and it would cost more to repair it than it was worth. Her second a diesel auto has been okay but she hasn't had it long.
On th subject of french cars the best car I owned was a Renault 25 GTS 2ltr petrol. Bought it with 77000 on the clock and it finally went to the scrap yard a few years later with about 175000 on the clock. It never needed an oil between changes and sounded as smooth when we scrapped it as it did when we bought it, some of the other bit's weren't so good.

Re: Vespa is going!! Update: now gone/new bike pics!
I have both a Vespa GTS300 and a RE classic 350, both are brilliant machines, the Vespa has the edge in performance but not by much. The RE is more economical on fuel regularly getting around 100mpg. The previous owner of the RE had fitted a heel and toe shifter that took me back to the days of riding my Honda C70s. I think the shifter suits the bike well and adds to it's charm. The RE J platform bikes are ideal bikes for a chilled out ride especially in scenic surroundings. Both are useful practicle bikes to own.

Couldn't agree more Growler. Both excellent bikes. I miss my Vespa but have to say the Enfield is superb & even better for very long rides than the Vespa. I'm getting a regular 110+ to the gallon now in mixed riding mostly on country roads but with quite a bit of 60mph cruising on dual carriageway. So very happy. Doesn't use any oil or have any oil leaks. It makes a nice noise too!!

Yes, that's not an issue. Quite sad CK's are closing. However the Enfield is dead easy to service & there are plenty of really good non franchised VAT registered dealers about who can do it & keep my warranty.
Also, I'm looking at the new Vespa 310cc GTS. Lots more power...mmm! Do I buy one?
