Time for me to Go!

Post by Data »

Hello everyone.

As the title suggests, I'm going to be leaving the forum probably at the end of the month! :o This gives anyone I know from on here time to get my contact details if they want them. I'm not leaving for any particular reason other than I have much less desire to engage in any social media these days. That's not a reflection on any of you guys or girls with whom I've had many an interesting conversation. I'm riding a bit less too due to health issues & it just feels right to move on. I can no longer service bikes or do much in the way of any real work on them either.

I'm certainly not giving up riding & I'm a member of a local Muppets group with whom I meet fairly regularly for rides & food. There are still adventures ahead! :D

I just want to say a big thank you to you all for your engagement over the many years we've been together. I'll be closing my membership account at the end of he month but if anyone wants my contact details just let me know. Just to say I don't think my private messages are working correctly. I don't seem to be able to send properly or sometimes receive. Must ask Chris or Capitano to check that.
Ok, bye for now & thanks.
Ian

Sad to see you leave, thanks for your help and advice on the forum, I can relate to your comments, I no longer ride with others on group rides and like plodding along on my Hunter and Vespa, stopping when ever I want.

Dave, thanks. I understand those sentiments too! I still enjoy riding with the local group which is led by Chris (Mottza) but it's pretty good fun riding out for the day on my own too. I pack a flask, a marmalade sandwich (Paddington taught me that one!) & my camera. I ride for sometimes hundreds of miles, stop & admire the view, take photos etc. The 350 Meteor is a joy to ride, as you will know I'm sure. That 'J' series engine in your Hunter & the Meteor is superb. I keep trying to beat your 114mpg. I've only equalled it so far!!
Dave it's possible we'll meet again at some point at some breakfast venue. You never know. I'll make sure my contact details are visible in a day or two just in case anyone wants contact. We've ridden together in the past albeit some years ago.
So I wish you well for the future & many happy years of riding. Take care. icon_thumbs_up.gif

Data, we’ll miss your contributions.

Sincere thanks for being such a great forum member, and a generous benefactor.

I’ll check out your PM situation after Easter when I fire my Mac up again, rather than try and do something on my phone and bugger it up.

Do us a favour, though, don’t delete your account. Stuff can happen in the future that we can’t predict, and you might find yourself back here.

I did!

If you simply stop posting, you can log back in at any time in the future, and pick up where you left off, even years later.

Meanwhile, enjoy that Enfield, and I wish you everything that you wish yourself.

Data, sorry to hear that your leaving always valued your knowledge and expertise particuly where Burgmans are concerned. I had noticed you didn't seem to be posting as much lately. Your riding seems much like mine have camera will travel. I wish you Well for the future and hope you have many riding miles ahead of you. It's begining to sound like a retirement.
Thanks again for your prompt and educated answers to my queries.

Take care Data, thanks for all the help and advice. I can't say that I blame you, I'd happily give up social media myself 😂
