FORZA to the ADV

Post by johnakay »

I had my Forza for 2 years, reason for sale was that it was heavy and so was the steering.
slow maneuvering the steering was heavy. dealership can't find anything but admitted it was unusually heavy.
in the end I had enough after 2 years exchanged it for an ADV 350.
took a big hit lost half of the value in 2 years.
the Adv is more than adequate for me.
when they 1st came I didn't like it but prefered the Forza 350.
after a while it started to grow on me after watching you tube comment etc.
very happy even though I've only done 2000 miles since aug 2024.
that's the trouble when you have 2 bikes, you don't get the mileage in.
I had a Royal Enfield Guerilla 450after 800 miles I couldn't live with the seating nor could my wife .
sold that and bought a kawasaki Z650RS.done 600 miles on that before I put it way for winter. had it service before hand.

Two lovely looking bikes there John. The ADV 350 looks really good in blue. I think I may have to take a hit on my 2023, Yamaha Tech Max 300 which I bought in Dec '25. Had it less than 3 months and only done about 400 miles on it ( 2550 total mileage), but every time I go for a ride my upper back is aching after 15 minutes and gets worse the longer I am riding. I think I am too tall for it, and just feel too cramped. I have just had an unacceptable part ex offer for it ( £3000 - I paid £4674) I think I may advertise it for sale privately, and take the hit, if I find a buyer, as I am not enjoying riding it.

its a 350 .theres abit more leg room on the adv than the forza 350.
plenty of power for me and my good lass.
last year we toured northumberland over 5 days without a hint of trouble got up to 70 mph no bother and fully loaded.
both of us together the weight was 28.5 stone not inc luggage /topbox 45ltr. also return on average 75mpg which is good considering the weight she was carrying.

I should really have known it's a 350 ( it was a typo ), I've got a red one! It does feel more spacious than my previous Forza which was a 300, the high handlebars on the ADV 350 help, and I agree, they go very well. I've had mine since new in Jan '25, covered 4700 miles, just had it serviced, and I'm completed happy with it, no problems at all.

I should have mine next week, had a Forza for nearly 4 years and love it but I’m hoping the new suspension on the ADV will be an improvement and that the mirrors will be more useful than the ones on the Forza

Also got a 1300GS

Seems that lots of folk are going from Forza to ADV, I'm glad I made the change. The Forza was a really good bike spoiled by suspension, mirrors and switchgear. At least you can extend the mirror stems if necessary - not possible on the Forza. I did this on my Super Cub by cutting and sleeving with threaded tubes.

I'm gradually doing the small changes to the ADV to suit me - waiting on leg wind deflectors and Puig screen. Have only done a couple of hundred miles so far and looking forward to a longer trip down to the Highlands - any members in that area up for a meet?

I am looking to possibly change from my Burgman 400 slimline to something lighter, and the ADV caught my eye. 30kg (5 stone!) lighter, with about the same performance. The 2026 special edition looks rather enticing, though the reviews have niggles regarding the self cancelling indicators, (are they still fitted?), and the Roadsync software.
Can anyone please give me any views on the scooter and the addons? I particularly would want to put a decent alarm system on it, for one.
Any help would be appreciated.
