Looking at the Givis, they seem massive width wise. An E470 is 555mm wide, my old Xevo box wasnt that wide Im sure. I quite like the E370, nice size but it would be fine for our stuff what with underseat space, but when parked up its nice to stuff helmets and jackets on the scoot.

Think I need to see if two jackets and a helmet will go under the seat, I do fancy a smaller box rather than those wide ones.

When me n the Mrs went away for the weekend we parked in Leicester and put in the bike and topbox 2 helmets. 2 rucksacks, both pairs of bike pants and a jacket, and there would have been some room for a few bags of shopping.so we didnt have to cary anything with us...great, try doing that on a bike

The width is deceiving - I've just measured my H-G winter jacket across the shoulders (it has armour in).
It measures 600mm so when I'm wearing it I'm wider than the box.

Well, Ive seen some pics of the Givi rack fitted to the Burgman and the topbox sits very very high and right out the back.... basically I find it awful to look at!
The Suzuki system seems to fit both lower and a little more forward so Im going to have to stump up the dosh!

Someone has pointed out to me that the genuine Suzuki box sits forward enough to intrude on passenger space, and their wife hates it for that! Never easy is it, the Xevo seemed better from that point of view.

Im not going to bother now, it seems that despite putting the suspension on its hardest setting the Burgman seems unable to cope with 2 up riding in all conditions. Basically its brilliant until I lean on roads with camber, when something (probably the stand) just digs in even at moderate lean angles. Its done this a few times now at low speed on mini roundabouts with a camber and my wife is only just under 9 stone. So, adding any more weight will make it worse.

Never once ground the Xevo, seems a Burger weak point this 2 up riding?

The verdict is this.... the Burgman 400 is brilliant for one up but for two up the Xevo wins on ground clearance and passenger comfort. My missus says the Xevo was easier to get on and off, the seat was better and her knees not as bent on the Xevo.

From my point of view, the Burger accelerates from a stand better two up than the Xevo but once on the move doesnt pull as well for overtaking so its really down to preferance. Im glad I changed scoots but we shant be doing those long continental runs as the Xevo was better for that and my wife just cant sit on the Burger for those miles.... which is sad. However, I cant afford to change for a long time yet.

Im looking forward to seeing the X10 as it may well be a better bet if its like the Xevo.

Failing that the NC700x and BMW GT both look tempting if I ever have the money.

No matter how much money I had, I wouldnt pay the prices BMW are asking
