Rode back from a camping trip in West Dorset in lashing rain and howling winds, loaded up with camping gear.
TMax didn't miss a beat. They're great machines. Needs a good wash now though. :D

Found that the quirky character that my X10 sometimes demonstrated was down to a sticky £5 relay, rather than any innate Italian character.

All that time (just over two years!) I thought that one of the circuits was a bit sensitive, whereas it was in fact a simple vibration required to shut off a relay properly, as a chance discovery yesterday revealed.

Without that faulty relay (which has been fault from new BTW) it would have been a 100% reliability record for the Piaggio over 6,000 miles and 2 years. Mind you it only surfaced now and again and was fairly easy to avoid, but still - very pleased to have solved that mystery :).

Well finished off the srv and booked in for mot on Tuesday ,gave it a test run after I'd finished assembly just for a system check ,all works great . I must say I have missed having it on the road even though I had the fz8 to use ,IMHO the srv does 90% of things better than the fz8 ,even the wife said it was a far better ride ,so I may just get some improved suspension parts and keep the srv for a few more years .

ripped ( removed ) the plastics from the rear end of the 125 s wing, made spring compressor and removed a rear shock to blast and repaint...waste of time as it was knackered. Ordered new gas shocks..de-rustifed the welds on the frame ready to paint and cleaned up a few other bits.

De-glazed the clutch and replaced the transmission oil, cleaned the transmission filters on the AN400 K8.

Had my first near miss on the Burg yesterday. Almost got taken out on a roundabout by an old boy in a car who chose not to stop and check. Lucky I was able to do a nifty manoeuvre and missed his rear bumper by a whisker. My manoeuvre ended up with me in front of him 5 feet from a red light so I could explain the error of his ways. His reply of 'don't talk to me that way young man, I am a church warden' did not go down well as a even older lady leaned over from the pavement, rapped on his hand with her walking stick and laid into him about nearly killing me. Lights went green and I left her to it(I think he had stalled the car by then)

Gave "Mr T" a well deserved wash and polish after his epic wet ride on Friday.
One of my Neighbours said it must be the most pampered motorbike in Britain. :D
