So is this right

Mk1 tmax ribbed on the inside
MK2 tmax ribbed on the inside and the outside

However the MK 2 belt will fit the MK1 tmax

My cheap one was just ribbed on the inside, I have a original Yamaha one in the garage which is ribbed both side, also polini is ribbed both sides

The "old" belt that i chucked in the bin a few weeks ago (Yamaha belt) was ribbed on the inside, but smooth ish on the outside :?

Hi Clive. OK. OK. So I put wrote reply badly. I meant that the wear was only 50%
of the wear limits! Oh yes and the belts had ribs on both sides. So there. :kiss:

Now my (fading) memory is that the belts for both mk1 and 2 (and 3) are ribbed on both sides - why, I've no idea!!
I bet that the belts on all Tmaxs are interchangeable, but Yamaha almost certainly have different part numbers - there is I think more than one belt even for the mk1 - but they look identical.

OEM Yamaha belts are ribbed both sides. I bought one of the ones below whilst waiting on delivery of an OE Yam belt. It lasted 300 miles. Still saved me money on train fares so I wasn't that bothered but 300 miles!!! :shock: :roll:
