I've got three rides posted at the moment all different types of rides. Got to the stage now
where I organise these rides with one prime object in mind that's to enjoy myself if anybody
wants to join me that's fine. So when I plan these rides I do it for me if people like them
they'll come again if they don't they won't. I don't have a problem either way so long as I'm
happy after all ain't that what it's all about.

One venue the X9ORC went to was Baskerville Hall where there is accommodation to suit most pockets ranging from dorms to doubles. If a weekend away is planned well in advance it gives those on a tight budget the opportunity to save for it.

A scooter can be chucked about at 10 mph or 70 mph, engine size is not important, if any one thinks so they might as well go join the power rangers or LML/Lambretta types :D

I'd quite happily sit behind a 50cc if the ride was enjoyable :D
I don't understand your LML/Lambretta types comment?

One extreme to another mate, I guess I could have picked on the 50cc 16 year olds but just went with the guys that I either see pootling along slowly on 125cc/50cc or trying to fix them at the side of the road in the area I live in/visit... and I usually only see them in sunny weather.

Maxi riders and/or bikers (125-max) appear to fall in between.

If I have posted out of ignorance (usually) please forgive me and not flame my ass

No malice intended mate, just thought 'How can he put lammy's in with power rangers' I know what you mean now. I'm very biased towards the proper trad scooterists that do the rally's weekend after weekend in all weather. And I've just realised I'm hi-jacking a post!

Back on subject, if you want to try a national meet, try a trad rally with camping all the organisation has been done for you, and before anyone starts saying they won't except us blah blah blah I go on my Mana, NOT exactly a scooter is it????

My only comment, iam with Tmax 9 regarding early starts. I take longer to get going in the morning(old age i guess). When i go out for a ride i have my breakfast at home. I fill up the night before. I go to ride, not to sit in cafe's or wait while people have a meal. I don't mind stopping for a tea break but, my intention is to enjoy the day riding. On Sundays i like my sunday meal that i have about 4'oclock so i like to be back home around that time, this is the main reasons i ride alone, i have joined in a couple of rideouts and enjoyed them but i doubt i'll go on any more. :)

I've said that on here before, there's a topic in this section about Mersea Island rally in Essex at the end of this month. Ten quid for a weekends camping, loads of bands playing - the big one for me being 90's band Dodgy. :) It's a massive site with showers, toilets, trade stalls, bars, 3 rooms of music including The Darkside dance music tent etc etc yet out of everyone on here I think only Mottza showed an interest and even he can't stay overnight due to other commitments.

This year I've been to the Skegness rally, a local one at Larling, Norfolk, 65 years of the Lambretta Club GB in Lincoln and then Mersea on 31st August.

If people think a trad rally isn't for them I say give it a try as I thought exactly the same thing when I went to my first rally at Mersea last year, I went on an X8 and was surprised to see other maxi scoots plus hundreds of GTS's. There's no reason why a load of Muppets can't all go down together on the Friday and come home Sunday, you won't have a better time for a tenner!

I don't think Kenny can make it this year, he's having a hip-hoporation.
