It's true that sensible folk would walk away, but sensible folk are not BMWs target market.

People were paying new money for used Fiat 500s in 2008, and paying more for used BMW Minis in 2001/2. Who wants a Vespa GTS for 5k?

No ta, not when one can get a new Vespa 300 for £3800 with immediate delivery.

Just been looking on an American bike forums and the BMW scooters over there with all added taxes cost around £6700.I know we pay a premium in Uk sometimes but our prices are ridiculous !

BMW is just a copy cat tmax ...they cant do there own thing they even have to slag off yamaha ....but at least there scooter is made in japan and they designed it and never pinched there design....i used to look at german machines and think of qulity and know its just poor workmanship and use of others brand names to build on there crap.

The prices over here, is because we are daft enough to pay, ,some years ago the chairman of Honda ,was asked why bikes were so much more expensive in uk than any where else,
he replied they are priced to what the market will stand, in other words because we pay these silly prices,

Isn't that how the Japanese got going with their motorbike production after world war 2 - copying the rest!
