Ran a LV 4Road for 10 years, baffles removed for 9 of them, never even mentioned in the MoTs... it wasn't much louder tbh, just a bit more of a deeper sound

but you were technically invalidating your insurance, have an accident and a clued up loss adjuster spots it and they might refuse to pay some or all of your claim, so is it really worth it. Oh and it's also illegal as you'll be driving without valid insurance.
Do it by all means, just be aware of the possible consequences.

Its all about staying within legal limits but allowing others to use their hearing as an additional sense when vehicles are becoming quieter like electric bikes/cars.
Think about it... your passing a noisy diesel bus parked to drop people off, pedestrian then steps out and doesn't see you *BAMMM* but they could have heard you if only you were noisy enough (but in legal limits).

Not if you inform your insurance, it cost me a WHOPPING 50 quid extra to my premium after I told my insurer about my MIvv on my Nexus insurance.

but you don't tell them you're removing the baffles do you........ because (at the risk of stating the obvious, again) it's illegal to remove the baffles.......

so Funkycowie, yes it's all about staying within legal limits, modify your exhaust by removing the baffles and you're not doing that........

Removing the baffles is not rendering your bike illigal, it only becomes illegal if it exceeeds a certain decibel level.
