Honda Integra

There is an article about the Honda Integra on the Scooter-station website. At launch, Honda made some wonderful claims about fuel economy (78mpg or something). However, Scooter Station have been riding one around and actually got 5.4ltrs/100km which I think equates to 52mpg which isn't impressive at all.....

Is Scooter Station or the Honda figures using Imperial gallons? If yank ones, the mpgs will be different:

UK gallons are bigger than US gallons:
1 UK Imperial Gallon = 4.55 litres
1 US Liquid Gallon = 3.79 litres

I looked into the NC700X fuel economy, and the Honda figures were actually less than real world numbers people were getting. So it'd be odd if they were lying about the scooter-varient mpgs. Could also be measuring methods:

Well, its possible that Honda have quoted miles per US gallon, but in that case the miles per Imp gallon would be even more outrageous.
Scooter Station, being French, are obviously using km and litres!
The Scooter Station was from a real(ish) world ride...though whether a top speed test was part of that I'm not sure!

Just read yesterday the Honda Integra will sell in Australia for AUD $10990 plus On Road Costs (ORC may add $600-$800), which translates to about 7500 British Pounds http://www.scootersales.com.au/News-436 ... tegra.aspx

Yep, 53mp imperial gallon is only 43.8 mp US gallon

I've just had a look at this baby today - the red one. It's a beautiful beast to behold and is bigger than I thought it would be. The wheels are unusually big for a scooter (17 inches), even a maxi scooter. The seat height is quite high too - at least for me it is (I'm 5"6), I had to stand on tip-toes to hold the bike up but that was in flat shoes rather than my bike boots which have a bit of a chunky heel! I'm very tempted I have to say but the things that put me off it are a) a chain (a pain to maintain for me anyway though I'm told very easy - and your local dealer may be able to put an auto-luber on it which helps), b) seat height (but again, this can be adjusted down a little) and c) no storage, not even enough for a helmet (but again, you can buy top box and/or side panniers at a cost - I've been offered a free top box, chain lube and seat lowering for free from my local dealer!!! I've not ridden it yet as there are no demos and Honda are only supplying the UK with a limited number so no demos will be available, at least, not local to where I live in the UK. I'd say, go and look at one and see what you think - it is beautiful to look at (but that's probably a very female thing to say!) and I'm sure will drive very well. The servicing intervals are every 8000 miles (!) but I guess you'd be well advised to at least get an oil change every 6 months to a year!!!! Go look and enjoy. I have taken some photos but don't think I can upload them here!!!
