Oh bugger!

Vespa GTS250 flew home tonight at a steady 75mph... humming along nicely and showing no apparent problems. Parked her up to return ten minutes later to a huge pool of coolant dripping from the engine mounting area. No visible split pipes, but the coolant level is below minimum...
Might be a head gasket but no option but to top up and limp it into work tomorrow... looks like the Smart car aka Thunderbird 4 will be called into action!

Did you put in on side stand after your blast? If so coolant could have meerly just expanded out of overflow when hot and scoot at angle.
Had this happen to me once and thought the worst, worth checking.

Nope. Always on the centrestand. I hate those bloody springy suicide stands... I have taken the seat bucket out to check the pipes but all looks dry.... my teccy thinks gasket. Will let you all know tomorrow....

Usually water comes out of the pipes where they go into the waterpump, they have naff clips which youjust remove and replace with jubilee clips and a little sealant.

Not that easy Barry.

Limped it into work this morning. Closer inspection has revealed a pin hole in the barrel. An expense I can't afford....

Blimey, thats weird eh? It shouldnt happen on such a new scoot unless its been run without coolant for ages. Id say a bit of poor quality control is to blame?
